1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Tracely collects, uses, and protects your personal data. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

2. Data We Collect

Tracely collects the following data:

• Account Unique user ID received when you sign in with Apple or Google, and (optionally) your name and email address
• Location GPS coordinates collected only while you are recording a walk (used to render your route and calculate your score)
• Walk Normalized route shape, score, and display name for walks you submit for evaluation
• Subscription Subscription status received from Apple via RevenueCat (your payment details are never sent to us)
• Notification If permitted, a device push token used to send weekly reminder notifications

3. Location Data

Tracely accesses your GPS coordinates only while you are actively recording a walk.

• Location data is processed only during a walk session; there is no continuous background tracking.
• Raw GPS coordinates are not uploaded to the server; only the normalized route shape is sent for scoring.
• Location permission can be revoked at any time via iOS Settings → Tracely → Location.

4. AI-Powered Route Scoring

Tracely uses the Groq API (LLaMA-based language model) to compare your route shape against the weekly target.

• Only the normalized route shape is sent to Groq servers during analysis; personal identifiers such as your name, email, or precise location are never transmitted.
• Groq does not use API data for model training.

5. Subscriptions and Purchases

Tracely offers 5 weekly evaluations. The first one is free; the remaining 4 require an active subscription.

• Subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store via RevenueCat.
• Your payment details are never sent to us; only the subscription status (active/inactive) is forwarded by Apple to RevenueCat.

6. How We Use Your Data

• Recording walks, rendering routes, and scoring
• Enforcing the weekly attempt limit and subscription status
• Generating the weekly leaderboard (only score and display name are shown)
• If permitted, sending weekly challenge reminder notifications

7. Data Sharing and Sale

Your personal data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

We work only with the following infrastructure providers:

• Google Firebase — Authentication, database, Cloud Functions, and push notifications
• RevenueCat — Subscription management
• Mapbox — Map rendering
• Groq — AI-based route scoring (only the normalized route shape is transmitted; no personal data is shared and data is not used for model training)
• Expo / React Native — Mobile app platform

8. Data Security

• All communication is encrypted via HTTPS.
• Authentication is handled via Firebase Authentication with Apple and Google; no passwords are stored.
• Server-side operations run on Firebase Cloud Functions; Firestore security rules prevent unauthorized access.

9. Data Retention and Account Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account via Profile → Delete Account. This action is irreversible; all personal data and walk records will be permanently removed.

10. Push Notifications

The app may send weekly challenge reminders and new-week notifications. You can grant or revoke notification permission via iOS Settings → Notifications.

11. Children's Privacy

Tracely does not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 13. Use by users under 13 requires parental or legal guardian consent. If such use is detected, the relevant data will be deleted immediately.

12. GDPR (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information below.

13. Policy Changes

When this policy is updated, the new version will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. In the event of significant changes, an in-app notification may be displayed.
